What this site is
ZKPDF is a small collection of PDF utilities — merging, splitting, rotating, watermarking, numbering and converting. Each tool does one job, and every one of them runs inside your browser.
Why browser-based
Most free PDF sites work by uploading your document to a server, processing it there, and deleting it some time afterwards. That model asks you to trust a promise. It also means waiting through an upload and a download for work that your own computer could do in seconds.
These tools take the other route. A PDF engine compiled to WebAssembly is loaded into the page, and your file is read, edited and saved locally. There is no upload step, so there is no copy of your document anywhere but your own disk. The trade-off is that very large files are limited by your device's memory rather than by a server, which is covered on each tool page.

How it is funded
The site is free and carries advertising. Ads are placed below the tool, never above it, and the ad script is loaded only when an ad slot is close to the viewport, so it does not slow down the part of the page you actually came for. See the privacy policy for what that means for your data.
Corrections
If a tool produces a wrong result, tell me and include the kind of document it happened with. Reproducible bug reports get fixed.
